Adult Breakout Sessions
Grieving with Hope: A Guide for Individuals and Families Navigating Loss
Speaker: Nancy Williams
Loss is something every person and family experiences, and with loss comes grief. In this session, we’ll take a thoughtful and compassionate look at what it means to grieve with hope. What can we expect when grief enters our lives? How do we cope in healthy ways? What can God teach us through seasons of loss? This breakout is designed to offer biblical encouragement, practical insight, and space to reflect on how God meets us in our grief.
Marriage: The First 10 Years
Speaker: Mike Gibbons
The first ten years of marriage are both significant and often challenging. As couples learn to do life together, they navigate work, careers, children, home responsibilities, extended family, and friendships—all at once. This session explores how a growing marriage can reflect the gospel during these formative years. We’ll also discuss how the church can support couples early in marriage and how parents can wisely counsel their adult children as they walk through this important season.
The Significance of Having a Biblical Worldview
Speaker: John Dunn
Scripture reminds us that we are made for another world and that our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20). Because of this, it is vital that we learn to see life through a biblical lens. This session will explore what a biblical worldview is, why it matters, and how it shapes the way we understand truth, culture, and everyday life. We’ll also consider how those who reject Christ make sense of the world—and why a biblical worldview is essential for establishing a Christ-centered home.
Milestone #2: Gospel Foundations
Speaker: Aaron Colyer
This breakout focuses on the season of life when parents are laying the groundwork to help their children understand who Jesus is and why salvation matters. We’ll discuss common questions and pressures parents face: How do we recognize genuine faith in our children? What is the difference between childlike faith and saving faith? How do we avoid giving false assurance while still encouraging real belief? As primary faith trainers, parents are called to lay a strong foundation and trust God to build faith in their children’s hearts (Psalm 127:1).
